November 4th - 8th

Congratulations to Mrs. Ludtke who had her baby girl, Amelia Monroe Ludtke, on October 30th at 8:10 PM! The class was excited to hear the news and see a picture of baby Ludtke. I, Mrs. Lemm, started this past Wednesday and enjoyed all the special activities taking place. I am very excited to be in for Mrs. Ludtke while she is out. I have three daughters, Emily (11), Natalie (9), and Audrey (7). We love to spend time together reading, camping, cooking, baking, and playing with our 6 month old puppy, Oppie. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to me. My email is lemmh@kaukaunasd.org.

What's new this week in First Grade?

Math: This week we will be working on using math mountains to explore unknowns. We will also be solving story problems and making sure to label our answers. The class will be able to practice visualizing story problems by acting them out. There will be a math homework sheet sent home on Wednesday. This sheet does NOT need to come back to school. It is just a chance for you to see what we are working on at school. If you don't get to it on Wednesday, just do it another night!  Extra practice is always helpful.

We had a special guest to read us some spooky stories on Halloween!

Hello!  We have had so much fun the first two days of school.  We are learning each others names and getting to know each other.  We have been practicing routines in our classroom.  I can already tell it's going to be a great year :) Here is a 2nd day of school picture...(since we forgot a first day picture!) And a silly one...because that's the only way I could get them to all smile for the first one!  I hope that you are hearing great things at home too. As always if you have any questions, let me know. -Samantha
