March 9-13

It was fun celebrating reading last week!  We read in many classrooms on Friday afternoon and decorated our room as a space theme. If you still have a Dr. Suess grid at home, try reading in fun places!  They can still bring them in this week for a prize. Conferences: Make sure to sign up! Each grade has an assigned item to collect.  Donations are OPTIONAL.  If you wish to donate,  please bring NEW items to conferences on March 24 &26. Families

March 2-6- Read Across America Week

Hello! This week we welcome Beckham to our class.  He is a first grader and we are happy that he is joining us.  It's an exciting week to celebrate reading at school.  Have fun reading at home too.  I'm sending home a bingo sheet to record at home.  Fill in a row, column, or diagonal and return for a prize.  Dress up days for the week: Monday, March 2 Cat in the hat day Wear your favorite hat or stripes Tuesday, March 3 Grinch day/ green eggs and ham Wear green Wednesday, March 4 Wacky Wednesday Thursday, March 5 Red fish/blue fish, wear something blue or red Friday, March 6 twin day thing 1-thing 2 day Word Study:  Try searching from them in your books!  Rainbow write them with markers! 1st: back, because, very, I'm K: all, too, they, will Writing: We are beginning our new unit of fiction writing.  We will be writing realistic fiction books.  We will create characters and stories that we can relate to.  This week will be fun because w
