This week I will be conducting some 1:1 literacy assessments with each student. In order for me to meet with each child individually, we will have a guest teacher on Thursday in our class. I will be anxious to share the results of these assessments with you at conferences.

Math: Today some red flash cards are coming home. On the back they show the counting on strategy. It might be helpful to cut these out and practice at home for fluency. This week we will move on to subtraction and explore strategies to use.Reading: Today we are celebrating our great reading habits! In our next unit we will become reading detectives. Reading detectives look out for tough words and stop to solve them right away, they look closely to get clues, and they use everything that they know to solve words. I'm including the two charts from our first unit. These are habits that they should be using in their books when reading at home too.
