I can't believe this week is here! I'm so excited to finally meet baby girl! I will definitely miss the students while I am out but I have worked really hard to make sure that the transition is smooth in our classroom. Word Study: We are beginning a new unit with a focus on hearing on vowel sounds in the middle of words. We will use the tapping strategy to help us. Ask your child to show you what that means this week.
Kindergarten: like, on, in, so
1st Grade: you, an, can, no, am
Writing: This week we will write opinion pieces on some of our favorite places to visit. We will also compare them to other places and say why they are the best. On Halloween we will write spooky stories!
Reading: This week in reading we will break words into parts. Looking at beginning sounds, middle sounds, and end sounds. We will also look at word endings such as ing, ed, s/es.
Math: This week in math for all students we will be doing some review. We will also be learning some new Halloween math games.
