Thank you for the baby shower on Friday! We had fun celebrating Baby Ludtke in our classroom. They all weighed in on some name options and drew pictures of what they think she will look like. Now it's a waiting game! We will have to see if anyone is right :) Pink and purple cupcakes were also a special treat!
Seesaw: We are going to be using Seesaw in our class to share what we are learning. Each child has their own account and on Friday we tried it out for the first time! It is a safe way for you to see their work. You are able to access the website or app to view their profile. You are also able to comment and they will be able to see it at school when they login. This week we will be sharing our social studies learning.

Reading: We earned our word detective badges last week! We have been working hard on using our picture power, pointer power, and snap word power. This week we will begin to bring home book bags each night. They should come back each day. Most times the books will be just right books that I have given them but at times you might find they are high interest books. If your child is struggling to read it, it is ok to help! Reading at home should be an enjoyable experience!

What's new this week in Kindergarten?
Math: Mathematicians will learn all about numbers 6-10 and how using a five group can help us to see and build those numbers quickly! We will use different tools to build these numbers and make equations to match. Mathematicians will also explore equal and not equal by comparing both digits to objects and objects to objects.Reading: We earned our word detective badges last week! What's new this week in First Grade?
Math: This week in math we will be doing lots of review. We will practice the counting on strategy by learning some new games. We will also continue to explore how addition and subtraction are related. We will talk about fact families and make different representations. I will begin to send home a math homework sheet on Wednesday nights. This sheet does NOT need to come back to school. It is just a chance for you to see what we are working on at school. If you don't get to it on Wednesday, just do it another night! Extra practice is always helpful.Reading: Last week was very exciting! We earned our word detective badges!
